Kadena Air Base “AmeriFest 2025” will be held!
The 18th Force Support Squadron at Kadena Air Base, Japan, has officially announced that it will host America Fest 2025.
On March 22 (Sat.) and 23 (Sun.), 2025, the flight line (runway area) of Kadena Air Base will be opened to the public and a variety of events will be held.
Event Summary
AmeriFest is a large-scale event that allows U.S. military bases to interact with the community and is open to the general public. The following attractive programs are planned for this year’s event.

✅ Ground Demonstrations
✅ Kids Land (children’s attractions)
✅ Food Festival & Market
A large area of Kadena Air Base will be opened up to the public for families and friends to enjoy music, sports, gourmet food, aircraft displays, and more.
Admission and Gates
Visitor by vehicle (Japanese and general visitors)
Enter through Gate 4 (Mizugama, Kadena Town, Route 58)
Vehicles can park in the free parking lot on the airfield runway
Water Kettle Gate 4 is located here.
Visitors on foot (Japanese and general visitors)
Enter through the pedestrian gate (along Prefectural Road 74, Yara, Kadena Town)
No illegal parking or parking in residential areas.
The walking gate is located here.
For persons covered by the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA)
Enter through Gate 2 and use the free shuttle stops on base (near the Base Exchange, Outdoor Recreation, and Cadena Elementary School)
Direct entry through Gate 4 or pedestrian gate is also possible
Restrictions apply to personal vehicles driving directly into the venue.
Exit Method
If parked at the airfield: Exit from Gate 4 or Gate 17 (Okinawa City side, along Prefectural Road 74)
If entering on foot: Exit through the pedestrian gate (along Prefectural Route 74)
The nearby roadside station, Kanena, is a good landmark.

Japanese nationals

Non-Japanese who are not covered by the Status of Forces Agreement
Valid passport (with latest landing permit) or resident card
Under 18 years old
Basically, no ID is required, but it is recommended to bring a student ID in case age verification is necessary.
Note that health insurance cards are not acceptable.

Payment for food and merchandise will vary from stall to stall, but all stalls will accept U.S. dollars.
