In Okinawa, depending on the time of year, a flea market is held on a base at some U.S. military base every week.
We have compiled information on flea markets at such U.S. military bases with dates and times!
I think it is one of the most special experiences in Okinawa tourism.
Flea Market Attraction
At the flea market, you can find items used by U.S. military personnel and their families at low prices.
This includes furniture, electronics, children’s clothing, toys, and even vintage American goods and jeans, items that can only be found in the United States.
Although these products are well used, they are of high quality and often unique in design, making them attractive to shoppers.
Points to consider when participating
- Identification: A photo ID such as a driver’s license or passport is required to enter the base.
- Open Gate Events: Once or twice a year, the base opens its gates to the public, and a visit in conjunction with an Open Gate Event is a great way to experience the atmosphere inside the base.
- Act early: Popular items often sell out early, so it is recommended to arrive before the doors open.
- Enjoy negotiating: In many cases, prices can be negotiated, so be willing to try.
Flea Market as a Hole in the Road
